When the teleportation experiment went wrong, the facility was breached by hostile creatures from another dimension. Security guards fought valiantly to hold off waves of aliens while trying to evacuate civilians. Their radios filled with static and screams as the situation spiraled out of control. Ultimately, most of Black Mesa Security perished during the initial breach or were eliminated later. The Hazardous Environment Combat Unit arrived afterward to wipe out all witnesses, including surviving guards who had managed to escape the alien infestation.
